We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Richard Daniels, a Ph.D. student in the Washington University Neuroscience Program, received the 2007 Thomas Elkins Prize for the best Doctoral dissertation in the field of Drosophila neurobiology.

Richard is conducting his thesis work in Aaron DiAntonio's laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Biology, and studies the physiology of glutamatergic neurotransmission.

Richard received the Prize at the Neurobiology of Drosophila Meeting (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York) and also delivered an honorary lecture.

Congratulations to Richard! and to Aaron, and to our Program!
