Outreach is an important part of our training mission. We have a variety of opportunities for high school students and undergraduates to get involved with the department, including:

  • Amgen Scholars Program: The Amgen Scholars Program is designed to recruit exceptional undergraduate students interested in careers in biological and biomedical sciences with an intensive 10-week laboratory experience under the mentorship of faculty at WashU.
  • St. Louis Neuroscience Outreach: STLNO seeks to connect the general public with scientists who study the brain. Find programs for K-12 students, volunteer opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and medical students, postdocs and faculty, and events in the St. Louis area.
  • WUSTL ENDURE program: The Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) ENDURE summer research program prepares undergraduates from diverse backgrounds for neuroscience PhD programs.
  • Young Scientist Program: The Young Scientist Program aims to attract high school students to scientific careers and increase the participation of historically excluded groups in science by bringing resources and scientists directly to teachers and students in the St. Louis area.
