Outreach is an important part of our training mission. We have a variety of opportunities for high school students and undergraduates to get involved with the department, including:

  • Amgen Scholars Program: The Amgen Scholars Program is designed to recruit exceptional undergraduate students interested in careers in biological and biomedical sciences with an intensive 10-week laboratory experience under the mentorship of faculty at Washington University in St. Louis.
  • St. Louis Neuroscience Outreach: STLNO seeks to connect the general public with scientists who study the brain. Find programs for K-12 students, volunteer opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and medical students, postdocs and faculty, and events in the St. Louis area.
  • WUSTL ENDURE program: The Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) ENDURE summer research program prepares undergraduates from diverse backgrounds for neuroscience PhD programs.
  • Young Scientist Program: The Young Scientist Program aims to attract high school students to scientific careers and increase the participation of historically-excluded groups in science by bringing resources and scientists directly to teachers and students in the St. Louis area.
