Research

With more than 15 years of expertise in comparative, multi-modal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Autio’s research spans human, non-human primate and rodent studies with a primary research objective of advancing high-resolution multi-modal MRI methodologies to bridge basic science discoveries with translational applications in human clinical studies. His research impacts clinical applications by advancing non-invasive imaging methods for diagnosing and monitoring neurological diseases.

In his current work, he has translated the Human Connectome Project (HCP) neuroimaging methodology to non-human primates and applied this technology to improve the understanding of the human brain evolution.
