The Vogt Lab seeks to uncover how GABAergic inhibitory neurons develop, mature and contribute to the normal functions of the brain. It studies genes involved in inhibitory neuron development and maturation, as well as those implicated in disease. In addition, it is interested in how autism spectrum disorder risk-genes contribute to the normal biology of the brain and how mutations in these genes impact function.
